Boots of all styles and varieties may be purchased in stores as well as online. Other options include having them custom-made or made-to-measure. There are a few things which should be considered when trying to find the right size.

Most people know their general shoe size. When it comes to boots, however, it is pretty common for the item to be purchased a half-size bigger than normal. When ordering online, it may be wise to try out a few items of footwear from the same brand. This can ensure that the buyer is selecting the right size.

On the other hand, when it comes to custom-made and made-to-measure boots, many people do not know the difference. A custom made item can include unlimited options for the height, style, colors and material of a boot. A made-to-measure item does not necessarily include all those options. Rather, it just allows the wearer to ensure an exact fit. For that reason, it is wise to double-check what a boot-maker who uses either of these terms means specifically.
